Yeah, a new series of How Clean Is Your House is back on our screens tonight, 8.30pm, channel 4.
I love watching this show, I like Kim the best, I think she is so funny. So, hopefully we will be back in time tonight, so I can get nicely settled and watch one of my fave shows.

I saw that. I'm not sure its a new series though. The tv guide says their revisiting homes they cleaned in the past. _________________ A Cosy Life

OOH I hope they air those new shows here! I love that show!! Kim is so funny!
It would be nice if they could do a revisit to those weight loss candidates on "You Are What You Eat" too---I'd love to see if those people stuck to their regime! |

I can't stand that McKeith woman. She's condesending and insulting and quick fix salesman. People with weight problems don't need that sort of "support". Some may swear by the kind of strictly vegan regimen she follows ie: no white flour/sugar/processed foods/dairy or animal products, I don't think its the kind of dietary program many of us would want to adopt for a lifetime. I'd be interested to know how many of her tv dieters have stuck with the program and/or maintained their weight loss. Or even managed to stick with a healthier eating plan. And that's what its about, changing your habits, as opposed to your dress size. Fix one, the other will follow.
And that's enough rantage from me for one day..... _________________ A Cosy Life

| Although I love the show, I cant stand Gillian either, she is a horrid woman, I like watching the show to see how people live, if that makes sense, and Gillian enrages me. She is horrible to her poor victims, I would go mad if she spoke to me like that. I know I could no stick to her diet, how boring would that be! I eat what I like, when I like, and if I put on a few pounds, so be it. I enjoy my food, and have tried dieting before but I just cant do it, I am not good at self discipline, as I am typing this I am eating a nice hot, buttery muffin, how could I live without such scrumptious food as this, I know Gillian would frown on me for eating this, but so what! |

Hehe I think Gillian is very mean to those people--some of them do need a kick in the pants and I guess she's the one to do it. I don't think she's a real "doctor" either. I was curious about her cookbooks--seen them on Amazon and was tempted to get one and try it out--I think most of those recipes I could find a variation on the internet.
It's horrifying though to see how some of those candidates comsumed in a week! |

I know, a lot of them ate quite a lot in one week!
I don't think Gillian is a real doctor, and what is going on with her accent? Is she British or American, I can never tell, for her accent changes all the time, lol. |

McKeith isn't a medically qualified doctor. She was ordered to drop the Dr. title she was using when she first appeared on the scene. I'm not sure what her qualifications are as a nutritionist. I've never been interested enough to find out. I tend to take with a grain of salt, advice being dished out by someone with something to sell along with it.
She appears to have scoliosis of the spine (curvature0 along with kyphosis (she's somewhat hump-backed). I don't know if they are congenital (she was born with it) or they developed over time, but I wonder if her dietary choices are helping or hindering it. Not suggesting a vegan diet isn't healthy, but by restricting the types of foods you eat, you may be depriving yourself of important elements that would have to be taken up elsewhere. Say in tablet form or the like.
Certain skeletal and joint disorders, while not necessarily caused by a diet lacking adequate amounts of certain nutritional elements, are proven to be made worse by lack of calcium and other vitamins and minerals such as manganese, vitamin B6, and copper.
Anyway, just my opinion. Its the rare person nowadays who doesn't know what constitutes a healthy lifestyle as opposed to faddy, quick fix plans. You don't need the McKeith's of the world shouting at you. Then again, you don't have to participate in programs like hers where your volunteering to be made to look like a ditz.
