Good stuff for taking off makeup and great to use in cold, dry weather. Keeps my face from drying out. I just wish there was a faster way of taking off makeup instead of slathering, massaging, then tissue off. Afterward I have to use soap or another cleanser to get rid of the extra greasy feel. I then like to use a vitamin C serum on my face, let it sink in then follow up with Olay nightcream on face and eye gel over the eyes....I use a ton of products! Need to have freshly brushed and flossed teeth, pop out my contact lenses and hop into warm flannel bedding! I literally read for 5 mins before I start nodding off or get paranoid that I'll be too tired to wake up. Sometimes after I turn off the light and settle down, I either meditate or silently pray. I try not to let the anticipation of the next day get my anxiety up--I tend to do that to myself way too much.
Time for me to go to bed! _________________ "I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it will be with a knife." Louise Brooks |

| I use either dove soap, or Johnsons baby soap to wash my face, then I use Ponds moisturizing cream, which is enriched with vitamin e, and smells divine. I want to get some rose water to use as a toner, I have 2 bottles of rose water which I use for culinary purposes, I wonder if that would do as a toner, after all, it is just the essence of rose. Before I go to sleep, I put a load of hand cream on, to kepp my hands nice and soft this winter, and I put lipsil on to stop my lips from chapping, then, I think happy thoughts, and drift off to sleep. |

I usually use Olay complete cleanser, occasionally Simple cleanser ( I don't know if that brand is sold in N. America). That washes off, along with any dirt and makeup, with warm water and a washcloth.
Follow up with a vitamin E cream for night, Olay UV 15 day cream in the day. I like to keep things simple. Finish up with brush and floss and Bob's yer uncle.
A few times a week I use a facial oil that I make myself around my eyes and on my neck. I also add some of my own essential and carrier oils to the vitamin E cream to boost it. That way you can buy a less expensive brand (I like the Body Shop's vitamin E night cream). It also goes further and you can use less by adding a few drops of rosemary, geranium and carrot essential oil, along with a few drops of EPO and rosehip oil. Mix it all well with a wooden spatula. Viola!
You'll have a night cream as good as (or better than!) many of the expensive brands. This cream also works well if your especially dry, say if you've got a cold or flu. You may notice your skin feels and looks more parched, especially round your poor nose. Doubles as a great night time hand and foot cream too. _________________ A Cosy Life

Oooh that's a great idea adding essential oils to cream! _________________ "I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it will be with a knife." Louise Brooks |

There's probably more of them in the blend you make yourself than in products that claim to contain them.
Always read the ingreident list. The lower down the list the touted ingredient is, the less there'll be of it in the product. _________________ A Cosy Life

Speaking of Ponds, I was going to get another pot of my usual Olay moisturiser when I was out yesterday. Then I spotted the Ponds creams; three types of moisturiser and a cleansing cream. I picked up the one with lipids and collagen. Very nice. And very bijou budget friendly too!
I think I'll get the cleansing cream to try once my Olay cleanser is used up. _________________ A Cosy Life

Ooh sounds nice Ali! I've been using a Target brand night time moisturizer--it's supposed to be comparable to Olay. So far it's pretty good. Let me know if you're really happy with the Pond's one--I may try that when this one runs out!
With cleansers I've been bouncing back from Pond's Cold cream to a cleansing oil--which is so nice and no greasy at all! I bought the cleansing oil at a Japanese supermarker chain here in L.A. _________________ "I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it will be with a knife." Louise Brooks |

Will do Joan. So far, so good. Pond's has been around for years and wouldn't still be around if the brand wasn't any good. I'm pleased just to see them still in the market and thought I'd give them my support.
Frankly, there's just too much stuff now in the health and beauty field. I mean seriously, how many different brands of face cream does the market really need? They're all basically the same, taking away fancy packaging and expensive advertising.
So its not just a budget concern with me any more. The whole consumerism thing has some blame in the current economic mess. Now me refusing to buy overpriced products any longer isn't going to fix it, but it balances life out in my wee corner of the Universe. _________________ A Cosy Life
